Mario Casas is a Spanish actor and top box-office draw. Originally from from A Coruña, Galicia, he made his film debut in Summer Rain (El camino de los ingleses) (06), directed by Antonio Banderas.
He starred in Three Steps Above Heaven (Tres metros sobre el cielo) (10), which became the highest-grossing Spanish film of 2010, and its equally successful sequel, I Want You (Tengo ganas de ti) (12).
He began a successful series of collaborations with director Alex de la Iglesia in 2013. All three of these films have appeared in Miami Film Festival’s Official Selection – Witching and Bitching (13), My Big Night (our opening night film in 2016), and The Bar (17).
Other Miami Film Festival selections include his English-language debut, The 33, at Miami GEMS 2015, the sweeping epic Palm Trees in the Snow (Palmeras en la nieve) (16), and this year’s The Skin of the Wolf (17).
