Kazuhiro Tsuji is a Los Angeles-based makeup and sculpture artist from Japan who has been nominated for 3 Academy Awards, including in 2018 for his work on transforming Gary Oldman into Winston Churchill for Darkest Hour (17). His other credits include Hellboy (04), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (08), and Rise of the Planet of the Apes (11).

In this fascinating documentary portrait of his philosophy and craftsmanship, filmmaker Aline Pimental examines how by giving meaning to each and every mark on his sculptures, Tsuji gives meaning to his own life. Exploring what is beneath every wrinkle of time on “the human face”, Tsuji transforms superficial masks into windows to the soul.

This film screens as a collection of FIGHT LIKE A GIRL & MORE SHORT FILMS.
